Trying out digi-scrapping

Alright, everyone...here's my first digi-scrap page. I really like it and it took me much longer than it should have, but please tell me if it looks "right". I don't know the first thing about digital scrap booking and I don't know if I have done it right. I bought some really cool brushes, read lots and lots about my puny little PSE3, which, surprisingly, can do lots of things.
I haven't bought any special kits yet, but they look fun. BUT like I say, I don't have a clue where to start with them.
This page was only created with simple layers and brushes.

So as I was working on this yesterday, my husband walked in and for some reason I blurted out, "hey, what do you think of me selling all of my scrapbooking supplies and then go all digital!" I think he got pretty excited because he started telling me that we could finally get the MAC he's secretly been wishing for and he could set me up with 2 monitors and full-blown version of Photoshop, etc, etc, etc... Then reality hit: I've got way too much invested in my paper collection to do that!! Don't worry everyone, it's not going to happen anytime soon!

BUT, you might see a digital scrapbook page here and there from now on...it's kinda fun! And if any of you know the ins + outs of digital scrapbooking, please share, I'd love to learn more!!

Teeny tiny toes

Hi everyone! Thanks again for playing along with my blog candy! Congratulations to Cynthia, lucky girl!

Here's a page I made today with the little spare time I had. It uses papers & die cuts from the Special Delivery Girl SS kit. The title was cut with my Cricut.

Have a great evening everyone!

I used random.org to pick my number and here is what it picked:

It's CANDY TIME

Thank you for coming here to see what I've been up to and giving your comments (which really make a girl feel good!)
I've got this brand new unopened stamp set from Stampin' UP! to give away to one lucky winner!
All you have to do is leave a comment here telling me what you are planning on doing with your check from Uncle Sam. We're going shopping for a new patio set and trampoline and probably putting the rest (if there's any left!!) in savings. Can't wait for that to come!

Get your comment in soon, I'll be picking a winner on THURSDAY at NOON (central).

one month page

Wow, I got real creative with that title, huh?
We had a great weekend with lots and lots of candy, food and wild kids! It's amazing how sugar reacts to little ones...it only takes about 15 minutes for it to kick in and then it's all chaos :)

Here's Lydia's one month page for her baby book. I always take a picture on her birth date each month and do a single page layout for every month.

Here I've used Blush Blossom Textured card stock and all MM's patterned paper from the Garden Party collection. The chipboard flowers are also from MM's. The small flower is colored with Blush Blossom craft ink. I also used a Soft Sky Carousel Note for the large circle. The title was cut with my Cricut (plantin schoolbook, my fav!)

Have a great day! I'm still thinking about what I should do for blog candy...I'll be back later to post that!

Super Simple

Here's a simple, simple, simple layout of my little pumpkin when she was 6 weeks old...that was 6 weeks ago! Time flies like crazy!!

I used my Cricut (plantin schoolbook font) for the title, Soft Sky (textured) for the background and MM's Garden party for the patterned paper.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Check it out!!

Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Perfect Plum

Don't you love this color combo?? I was inspired by the Eddie Bauer catalog I got in the mail yesterday. On pg 28 there is a sweater shown in these three colors and I was instantly drawn to it and had to do something with these colors!

AND I got so creative this time: I made this pointy border with the star punch! All you do is punch out a TON of stars and line them up like this:

I had to think of something other than a scallop border because I always put scallops on my stuff and I'm sure you guys are getting sick of seeing my scallops! I still love them, and you will probably see more of them soon! HA!

Supplies: Stamps: Always Paper: Certainly Celery, Perfect Plum, Soft Sky Ink: Perfect Plum (Craft), Certainly Celery Accessories: Celery 5/8" Grosgrain, Blue Rhinestone brads, Build-a-brad (Antique brass) Tools: Star punch, paper piercer, word window punch, 1/2" punch

Have a great day!!

One of a Kind

Did you all have a good weekend? Ours wasn't too bad. At least we had some nice warm(er) weather. I'm so ready for spring, actually I've been so ready for about a month!

This is a card I created this morning. It has a bit more detail on it than I've been doing lately, but I like it. And I like the color combo too: River Rock, Old Olive, and Blue Bayou. Some of my favorite colors. The Blue Bayou hasn't been used much this year. I think I just don't have much to inspire me to use it.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: One of A Kind, Short & Sweet

Paper: Textured River Rock, Old Olive, Blue Bayou, Very Vanilla

Ink: Blue Bayou, Old Olive, Versamarker

Accessories: Blue Bayou double stitched ribbon, Build-a-brad (Antique Brass)

I want to congratulate my swapping friends: Kristie for becoming a "Dirty" girl on Splitcoast, and Amy & Maren for being on a Design team for a new stamp company called H&M Stamps, right here in MN!! That's pretty cool. Go check these talented girls out! I'm so honored to be a member of the same swap group!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

ETA: I forgot to mention that I used a scallop scissors to make the little scallops on the top of the card.

I HEART My Swap group!

I can't tell you how much I love getting my swaps back from my "GREAT" Swaps! You can check out all of the members on the left side. They just reek of talent, I'm so serious!!

This little apple card is my contribution to our Spring Occasions Mini swap. It's a little bit country style, but sometimes that is how I feel about apples. I think about fall, and love to be in the country, or back home on the farm. So maybe it was a sub-conscious thing, I don't know.

Recipe:
Stamps: Tart and Tangy
Ink:
Certainly Celery, Ruby Red

Paper:
Certainly Celery, Ruby Red, Kraft, Very Vanilla

Accessories:
Natural Hemp, Ruby Red Brads

Tools:
1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Scallop Circle punch, paper piercer.
