It's CANDY TIME

Thank you for coming here to see what I've been up to and giving your comments (which really make a girl feel good!)
I've got this brand new unopened stamp set from Stampin' UP! to give away to one lucky winner!
All you have to do is leave a comment here telling me what you are planning on doing with your check from Uncle Sam. We're going shopping for a new patio set and trampoline and probably putting the rest (if there's any left!!) in savings. Can't wait for that to come!

Get your comment in soon, I'll be picking a winner on THURSDAY at NOON (central).

I don't think we are getting a check from Uncle this year, thanks to promotions for both of us at work. However, we are enjoying a week in Vegas next week for some fun! Thanks for sharing - I really do enjoy your blog :)

I think we're going to do some major landscaping in the backyard, John will buy some "guy-garage" stuff I'm sure, and I hope to get a few new stampng goodies!
Thanks for a great blog!

No check from Uncle Sam here, since we're in Canada! But with my tax return I'll probably buy a teeeensy bit of stamping stuff ;) and then the rest will go to RRSPs and pay off student loans.

Blog Candy is so much fun! I think we might have to make a check out to Uncle Sam instead of getting one back this year. :( I will think the worst so I am happily surprised, that is my plan. :) However, looking forward to a Bahamas cruise this summer with my husband, which we have been promising each other ever since he came back from Iraq three years ago. Can't Wait!!!

Debra Lois said...

Unfortunately, I'm not getting anything from the IRS. But if I was...I'd either have to be responsible - pay bills - or put it toward a laptop computer.

Carrie said...

I used my check to pay off my student loan! :) This had been hanging over our heads for ten years, and we finally were able to pay it off. Now, I have more money each month for stamps!

We'll probably owe money at tax time but I'm excited about the big economic stimulus check that'll come soon after! My husband and I will put that money towards out backyard. We bought a house last year and the back yard is plain old dirt. An extended patio, green grass and pretty flowers are definitely all part of the new backyard plan. Thanks for the entry and the chance to win the cute stamps!

My check is going towards a down payment on one of these -->>http://www.jeep.com/en/2008/compass/
or one of these -->> or something similar for ME! I SO need a new car -- one that's easy to get in and out of and that can carry all my crop gear!

My check will be going toward renting a van to take my family to see relatives in Maine. My grandchildren need to meet their 94 year old great, great grandmother!

We are using it to start our Disney fund! :) Thanks for the chance.

Love your Blog Sara! I plan to pay off some purchases already made in anticipation of my refund and use the rest to buy something fun for our backyard for the summer! Let's hope I get a refund now :o) Thanks for the chance to win this awesome set!

We're probably going to do something really boring like pay bills.

Pegg S said...

Oh a trampoline sounds like so much fun!! I will be spending some of it on Stamps and other craft supplies of course! ;) Maybe a new digital camera too! Thanks for the chance!

I will put it away for a rainy day. I neither need nor want any more stuff. Maybe it will go for the next dogs I adopt down the road. Last time we donated it to the food bank but they are already taken care of this year. I just donn't like shopping or spending anymore.

Anonymous said...

If I do get a check from Uncle Sam it will go into my savings for a rainy day. Right now I need to build my savings up more than I need to buy anything. Would love to buy something stamping wise but that will have to wait.

We don't get cheques from the IRS, being British. But if we did get a cheque back from our Inland Revenue, I'd get a set of nestabilities - can't decide which shape though!

Love your new pic!
We got our refund already and hope we get that extra one! It's in the bank, though we did buy a new bathroom faucet! Woohoo.

Anonymous said...

Not sure if we are getting a check, and if so how much. But, almost everything extra always go's to the bills!

GabrielaD said...

Well I am not getting a check from Uncle Sam...since I am Canadian. But with the money I am getting from our taxes we plan on fixing up the house a bit. Unfortunately its not much $$$ so we can't do much this year.

Anonymous said...

Im also from Canada. Im still waiting for my cheque in the mail.
I will probably end up buying a washer and dryer, since mine is over 22 years old. I will probably
have some money left, so i will buy scrapbook supplies. Thanks
for all the great cards and layouts.
Your baby is adorable!!!

We already got our check and spent it. The transmission went out on my (5 yr. old) car and that took care of it. Love your blog! Thanks for a chance at a new stamp set.

Since I am an addict of stamping...I will probably buy some new stamps and save the rest.

Well we already got our tax check back and we put it towards my new transmission. (yes right b/f tax time my transmission blew) and then some towards the cc. We should be getting that check they are starting to send out in May to everyone. We have no kids so we should be getting 1200 back and the whole thing is going towards the cc (and we'll still owe much more than that) don't you hate being an adult sometimes. lol! Maybe next years taxes we can use towards something fun!

Thanks so much for sharing wonderful blog candy with us! I hope you get to do something fun with your return!!! :-)

We have already gotten the money from our refund and socked it into savings. We plan on getting the kids a nice new playset to be in the yard, since the one we have now is broken and busted..lol. We haven't told them yet, it will be a huge surprise. The only downside is that it will have to be down closer to the neighbors yard..but OH WELL, it is the flattest, most level spot we have in our yard.

Our checks from Uncle Sam go right into the bank account and gets mixed in with the every day money. That means the money will probably buy groceries or gas or pay some sort of bill somewhere. The tax return in never earmarked for something "special".

Thanks for the op to win the YUMMY blog candy!

thank for th echnce to win!

If you're talking income taxes, we have to pay this year. =( YUK! If you're talking about the money that gov't is giving us to boost the economy...hmmmm...I might just have to boost my SU business economy a little, if I can get DH to agree, LOL. Probably not....so, yeah.

It'll probably go into savings til' we can decide on the best use. We've wanted a video camera forever, so maybe part on that?

I would love to do something special, but ours won't be one of the larger checks, since our boys are grown and out on their own. We have 2 trees which are both dead and huge and too close to the house to drop, likely we will use it to take them down. If we are lucky it will pay for that!

Anonymous said...

My husband and I are saving for a house. We will put the check in the savings account. :)

We'll put 1/2 in savings (which has dwindles to almost nothing since buying my hubby a car last month) and use the other half towards re-modeling the master bath -hopefully in 2008. Thanks for the chance to win a great stamp set!
Thanks

I wish I could say that I'm blowing it all at the local scrapbooking store or on something cool like the MM Slice but I won't be!

I'm not getting any back but I haven't paid any for a while either so I guess that's a good thing! Hubby might get something back but that will be banked and added to the day to day spending pot.

Thanks for the chance at the candy!

A trampoline sounds like great fun!!
A couple years back DH needed a new truck--instead of taking out a loan we pulled from savings (ours and our kids) and we need to pay back the remainder to the kids accounts!!
So, not much fun but such a relief to get their saving back to where it belongs!

I don't have an Uncle Sam. Not sure what we call him here in Canada. I can think of a few words.......LOL.
Our refund will be spent for sure.......on what? I do not have a plan. I am sure that some of it will go into my craft room. *wink*

Not much exciting here. Definitely need to reshingle the roof this year so we don't end up with a water bed ;-0 The rest will go for the LP bills, etc. Not complaining though, that will help a ton.

Still looking forward to getting a chance to meet you.
